This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success. (Joshua 1:8, ESV) (Listen)
This ‘Letter of Apology’ was written by Lieutenant General Chuck Pitman, US Marine Corps, Retired.
It is the epitome of exactly how I feel in regards to the current world state of things. It’s nice to know that there are others out there who share my convictions.
After escaping from her overly controlling campaign manager for the evening, Hillary Clinton snuck off to visit a local fortune teller of some fame and repute. In a dark and hazy room, peering into a crystal ball, the wizened, old, mystic delivered some very, grave news. “There’s no easy way to say this, so I’ll just be blunt. Prepare yourself to be a widow. Your husband will die a very violent and horrible death this year just after you lose the election.” Then the soothsayer looked up and locked eyes with Hillary who was visibly shaken at this dire news.
Hillary stared back at the old woman’s lined face, then at the single flickering candle, then finally down at her own shaking hands. She took a few deep breaths to compose herself…but ultimately, she simply had to know.
She looked back up and deep into the fortune teller’s gaze, steadied her voice, and asked the old lady the big question:
Just when you thought they finally caught the old hag in a lie she couldn’t possibly twist away from, you see something like this. I am no fan of the Clintons but after seeing this video, I have to say I never thought she was this kind of brave. The video is quite intense and even shows people getting hurt or even killed! Yeah the Senator from NY is a regular Rambone….er….I meant….Rambo.
Check out the scene where Hilary shoots an insurgent hiding under a tank…it is quite intense. She hardly even flinches as she blows him apart. Speaking of flinching, she has balls of solid brass, that Mrs. Clinton. In one scene, some guy has his head blown off by a snipers bullet and she keeps smiling like nothing. In fact she even stops to kiss a small child hello!
I have to say I am totally wrong about Hilary and her ability to lead under pressure. This video is more than enough proof for me about the kind of woman she truly is.
Well whaddaya know? I’m a Democrat?!! According to this tool (”tool”, heh heh), I am in alignment on a lot of key issues with presidential hopeful and former senator John Edwards. Who knew? I’ll admit Edwards seems likable enough, but would I actually lend him my vote?
Thankfully, I am relieved of such serious decisions because the rest of you have ruled him out as an option - nice guys finish last ya know. But, like my compatriot here, this tool did make me think about a lot of these issues and about the remaining candidates. I, too, have come away from all this looking to McCain to become our nation’s 44th president, but in all honesty, he’s the “default” option.
You’d have to be hiding under a pretty big rock not to be inundated with the 2008 US Presidential Election coverage in the media and online. And I’m sure it’ll only get worse as the year progresses.
For those of you who still are wondering which way to go for the upcoming Presidential election, or perhaps you can’t decide between two particular candidates, I found this great tool. Now I’m not advocating you let a piece of javascript decide your vote for you, but this tool is a great way to put the candidates into a context you can use to help decide.
Speaking for myself, Ron Paul is the man that I think has the best attitude and solutions for this country. With few exceptions, like pulling out of Iraq immediately for instance, I find my Libertarian tendencies line up perfectly with Senator Paul’s stance on the issues. However, Paul’s nomination by the GOP is extremely unlikely, so I find myself stuck in trying to make a pick from a selection of candidates I only kinda agree with. I suspect I am not alone in this dilemma.
Without the use of the tool I found myself leaning towards Senator McCain. Unfortunately, the only reason I could honestly give was that something about Romney, Huckabee & the entire Democratic side that I just don’t fully trust. Using the tool helped me see on an issue by issue basis, who I am most in alignment with. As it turns out my gut instincts turned out to be very accurate as far as this tool is concerned. It showed John McCain to be one of the candidates who I still share a good chunk of views with.
While I am still far from a permanent decision, I’ll be honest, this tool has helped me quite a bit in clearing the cob webs, so to speak.
Try it out. See where it takes you. You just might be surprised.
It seems absolutely incredible to me that in this day and age of information and technology, anyone would even consider censoring public events and knowledge. Apparently, Tim Skubick, site director for Fox News at the Mackinac Republican Conference is caught blatantly telling his camera director not to film any of the Ron Paul supporters.
I was happy to see this article today in my local paper, The Times Herald Record about growing support for Ron Paul in NY. It is nice to see a little fellowship in my personal quest to help Paul gain the White House.
For me, while I don’t agree with him on all issues, Ron Paul represents something I think our nation is in desperate need of: real change. Over the course of our 200 + year history we have steadily handed over more and more power to the one thing we should be the most suspicious of. What’s even scarier is the number of times throughout our history that the government has simply helped itself to ever growing powers. Sadder still is how we have convinced ourselves that the government “knows best”.
I agree that what Ron Paul is proposing is radical; dismantling the Federal Reserve, the FDA, etc. But radical does not automatically mean bad. I believe those who scoff at his kind of change are really just afraid. They would prefer to keep the status quo and not rock the boat or perhaps they really believe that candidate so and so will be the one to finally do something good for us. Now more than ever I feel like a vote for anyone else, Republican or Democrat, is just another vote for the same old crap…politics as usual.
I took a couple days for myself this weekend. Did somethings around the new home and watched some agonizing football. Colts lose, Giants win? Only the fan faithfuls saw that coming.
I definitely agree with Ron about not being the worlds police and truly only getting involved where there is a direct threat against us, but I don’t really think we should just walk away from Iraq like he proposes. I just think it would be a mistake to just pick and leave them like that. It would would make for even worse relations with the people later on…there would certainly be lasting resentment for leaving them in chaos and at the mercy of extremist, militant Islamics.
I don’t claim to have a better idea or to even have an idea for success on any measure in Iraq, but I do know that after all the natives have been through, to just leave them in the lurch would be a bigger mistake than any thing to date.
I do have to question this post in at least one respect; where is the factoid about Americans blowing up things and people around the globe? Where was the mention of Americans beheading Chinese civilians? I like the way the he paints a visual perspective but I’m not so sure it’s a complete image.
Here are all of Ron Paul’s replies during last nights New Hampshire debate. This man is just pure logic at work. You can tell because of the reaction of the other candidates around him. They laugh, snicker and then prove their inability to see the truth by spouting off the same old tired lines and rhetoric. Notice most times he is actually ganged up on by the others but never waivers nor does he fall.
I have to say that my respect level for the other candidates has taken a severe drop after viewing all this. Fred Thompson and Rudy Giuliani in particular. After watching Thompson’s arrogant, snobbish attitude and the absolute stupidity that came out of Giuliani, I am convinced that Fred should stick to acting and Rudy…well Rudy should really just go away.
Let’s face it, Ron Paul scares the other candidates. Not because he is “crazy,” but because he makes sense to a lot of Americans about just about everything. They can look at him and smirk & laugh all they want, but they are afraid of what he has to say. People say they’re looking for change, and every candidate on that stage promises change, but all I see and hear are the same old tired lines. This is why we all end up with the same crap year after miserable year.
The only hope any of these other guys have of getting my vote is either Ron Paul not getting the GOP nod or if Hillary Clinton or Barack Obama are my alternatives. I won’t vote for a Democrat unless God himself tells me too. Those folks are always way too caught up in trying to spend as much of my money as possible on shit that will never work. Why is it none of these people ever seem to think about the fact that “free” health care really means huge tax increases to pay for it all? Whatever…
In this first video Senator Paul explains why we should not be the worlds police agency.
This second video shows Ron explaining how we need to bring back the value of the American dollar and how the trickle down effect will help alleviate some of our other issues.
Here Charles Gibson shames the other candidates for pointing fingers about “flip-flopping” policies by pointing out where each one has done exactly that. Notice he noted that Senator Paul had only changed one thing…his political affiliation. For those of you pointing to this as proof that he is the biggest “flip-flopper” of all, I would like to point out that this change in political parties is absolutely necessary for anyone to win the race for President. Why? Simply because we are a nation of cows who like to follow the herd and so to get anywhere he needs to place himself in a place where the cows will see and hear him easily and perhaps even choose to follow! I myself, like Senator Paul, am a Libertarian but affiliated myself with the Republican party when I registered to vote. Lets face it in the grand scheme of things, no one takes you seriously if you aren’t either red or blue…just ask Ross Perot.
